Sept. 10, 2014 and a bottle of 2012 Terra Madre

Popped a bottle for a simple dinner of chicken tenders sautéed in olive oil and Chilean spices with a side of roasted Padrone peppers. I hadn’t a chance to taste the wine before I munched on a fiery Padrone (shit happens, adventures in eating, I don’t mind).

Though biting one of these hotties can be painful, the tongue fire lacks staying power, three minutes max. Anyway, once the hiccups subsided and the tongue returned from orbit, I took a good swig of the 2012 Terra Madre and OMG! This baby has all the beauty, seductiveness and forbidden allure of a showgirl at the Moulin Rouge in Paris.

Post conflagration, my tongue is bathed in sweet toasty oak and dark cherries wrapped in bacon—the sensation deep and unbelievably rich!

“I am totally confident that this wine will pair perfectly with spicy lovers and/or foods.”

Karl Dinger

Notes:
2012 Terra Madre Sangiovese / Columbia Valley - 240 cases made

A Supertuscan - the cherry aroma leaps from the glass and arrests your senses, beckoning you ever closer. Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) adds meat to the sensuous structure in just the right places, while Merlot renders the bumps soft and smooth. Mother Earth yes, but this Mother, voluptuous with a racy sexuality, is dressed in slinky silk and eager to please.• 240 cases made
